Cannot change the voice used in Google maps

I have an iPhone 11 on 16.6. I’m told that to change the voice in the Google maps app I need to change the language and voice settings in Siri. I’ve done this but the voice in Google maps remains the same. It is an American voice and I want an English voice. Can you advise please, thank you.

Changing Siri voice on my iPhone post iOS 18.2 update. I am wondering if anyone else is having a problem with their 18.2 update completely changing Siri’s voice, tone and speech? It refuses to change back. I am super upset by the change and the only information I can find is that they are trying to make her voice more “gender neutral”. I am autistic & have CPTSD. The new voice sounds rude and has made me cry 3 times today. I delivery drive for a living and spend 6-8 hours a day with my maps on. I cannot handle the new voice and maps wont even let me turn off the voice. How is taking away options for voice style inclusive? If this isn’t fixed I may have to download (gasp) google because I can’t and won’t put up with it. [Re-Titled By Moderator]

How to turn off voice in apple maps Hello! im not sure how to turn off Siri in Apple Maps. I’ve already searched it up and I just can figure it out.

Google Maps is not an Apple product. Contact the app developer here --> App Support or Google Maps Help - Google Support
