Hi
My brand new M2 Pro 14” MacBook Pro was overheating so the back of the keyboard is almost too hot to touch and the keyboard is hot running Premiere, and Logic with lots of plugins. The temperature of the CPU runs up to 80-95 a lot and I’ve seen it hit 105.
The Apple genius ran hardware tests which were fine and said it might be a firmware problem caused by a failed Time Machine restore.
She suggested the standard erase and install which I don’t really want to do for the millionth time cos it takes three days with all my software.
What would you recommend the problem might be and a fix or just return the machine with those temps.
thanks. Steve
If the Mac was too hot it would shut itself down.
I would verify your software is up to date "running Premiere, and Logic with lots of plugins."
