If opening one folder on your Mac's desktop opens all the folders, it might be due to a feature called "Spring Loaded Folders." This feature allows you to quickly navigate through folders by hovering over them and then releasing the mouse button to open them. However, it can be sensitive, and if you hover over a folder for too long, it can open all the subfolders.

To disable Spring Loaded Folders or adjust its sensitivity, follow these steps:

1. Click on the Apple menu () in the top-left corner of your screen.

2. Select "System Preferences."

3. In the System Preferences window, click on "Accessibility."

4. In the Accessibility pane, select "Mouse & Trackpad" from the left sidebar.

5. Under the "Mouse" or "Trackpad" tab, there should be an option for "Spring Loaded Folders." You can adjust the sensitivity or disable it entirely by unchecking the box next to it.

6. Close the System Preferences window.

After making these changes, the folders should no longer open automatically when you hover over them, and you'll need to click on a folder to open it. This should resolve the issue you described.
