It's at the discretion of the people at the service center. They likely won't have international iPhone models on hand for replacements, and therefore aren't obligated to honor warranties or AppleCare plans from outside their own country(except when both are in the European Economic Area or Switzerland).

The short answer is no. iPhones have never had an international warranty. It may be possible to have some services performed outside of the country of original sale, but don’t count on it.

Avoid headaches. Buy the phone in Spain, if that is where you live and intend to use the phone.

BTW, there is no such thing as an "international version" iPhone.
