People & Pets in iOS Photos - two different person which same name, how to deal with it as Photos.app wants to merge them

I have photos of 2 different person but both have the same name. The iOS app Photos is putting them together as if it’s 1 person and they look also similar but they are two different persons, so how can I separate them and how to assign the name 2 times? Do I have to use a trick like Sonu 1 and Sonu 2 or can the iOS Photos app display both Sonus with just their name Sonu?

Do you have two different Contact cards for the two people with the same name? Use distinctive key photo for the two Contact cards and different nicknames.

By same name do you mean both the first and last or just the first? If just the first then add the first letter of the last name to each of their first names, i.e. Jane D(oe) and Jane E(yre).

If both names are the same you can tack on an abbreviation of the city were they live, i.e. Jane Doe-SF, Jane Doe-NYC.

Thank you léonie, no I have those people not in my contacts and I don’t know their family names, they are some family members of my friend. I have now solved the issue with a little compromise trick, I just named them Sonu and Sonu 2 to make the difference.
