after my iPad Air was updated to 16.6.1 I can no longer use safari. I just get a blank screen. I still have an internet connection (I can download a book from the bookstore. I there some setting I need to change or some other fix

Force close Safari.

If that does not work force restart your iPhone. It may take a couple of attempts to get the key sequence right and the last step of holding the side bar until the Apple logo may take up to 30 seconds.

What happens when you put in an address such as "apple"?
Do you see the progress bar move across the address line?
Do any errors come up?
