Flashing red light. Airpods are charged but will not connect.
Reset airpods by forgetting device. Unable to connect to proper way to do so. Red light flashes when I open lights and does not connect.

Start here if your AirPods will not connect with your: If your AirPods won't connect.
Please also be sure to fully charge your AirPods if you are using them for the first time now. It may also help to reset them following the article you started with: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro. Please note the instructions here do are different than only forgetting the device in your Bluetooth settings.
If you have a second device, try pairing your AirPods with that device instead. If the issue continues, please contact Apple Support directly for more help or to set up service.
