Mandatory subscription Apple Music to play music?

I took a trial period of Apple Music to see if it was for me. I did not extend this trial period and ended the subscription. Now I constantly get the message that if I want to play my own music I have to subscribe to Apple Music. Both on the iPhone and computer. I already had iTunes Match and did not add any new music during the trial period.

I've already searched a bit in this community, but couldn't find a solution.

@apple how can I listen to my own music again?

I assume the iTunes Match subscription is still extant? You might try turning off Sync Library (formerly iCloud Music Library) in both devices then turn on again, which should remove any link to the cancelled service.
