Comparability iMovie version 10.3.5 with Snow Leopard version 10.6.8

Hi! We’d like to work on a iMovie library on 2 iMacs running different running systems. One being Snow Leopard Version 10.6.8. We’d like to update the iMovie on this Mac to version 10.3.5 , it is currently 10.1.8. I have read that to be able to work on a iMovie library on 2 iMacs it will only work well if we both have the same versions of iMovie. Will this be possible? Thanks for help!

iMac 27″, macOS 11.7

Can you just check that the " Snow Leopard " Mac is indeed Snow Leopard?

The very first version of iMovie 10 released in 2013 required OS Mavericks ,so the older Snow Leopard would not have been able to run this very first version , so I cannot see how it would be able to currently run version 10.1.8 .

If indeed the "SL' Mac is actually running something close to Big Sur 11.5 then you may be able to copy the

10.3.5 version over from the other iMac.

You may not be able to work on the editable project between two Macsd with differing iMovie versions, but a partial workaround might be to export the project as a movie from Mac 1, import the movie into the iMovie app on Mac 2, make some editing changes, and then export the re-edited project as a Movie from Mac 2, that you can then import into Mac 1 to make additional changes. You can also create anciliary projects to make special edits to a few clips that you can then export out and then import into the master iMovie project, or import back and forth between the two Macs.
