iPhone app store disabled

Sorry, I do not see a wake/sleep button on my iPhone. Besides, it is 'awake'. The screen is black except for the app store screen at bottom with the name I'm trying to download, which is Seek by iNaturalist. But thanks. Honestly, there is nothing else on the screen.

It's worse now. I downloaded 16.6.6 and now the store app does not recognize that i have both cellular data and wifi on. It is asking for cell data to be turned on, which it is. Sheesh. I now can't access the app store at all. And I did shut down my iphone after turning on wifi. Cellular data was already on. What in the world??!!

OK, I'm back on the store app but still can't access the double click box to download the app I want.

And if Giulio meant for me to click on the physical button on the right side of my iphone as it faced me, I did that too and that did nothing. It just made the whole screen dark but changed nothing on the app screen. If I understood that correctly.

Yes, I later realized that and pushed the physical button on the side. That is what made the screen go dark and did not resolve anything about getting access to the download button. Thanks.

Or it just takes me back to the desired app screen with the mostly hidden download button. It

does nothing. and I am pushing on the side button you intend, I am sure.

I pressed on BEST ANSWER for the 'fast double click' but then it disappeared. Not sure what happened.
