Panasonic P2 Card Reader Won't Show Up

I am trying to connect a Panasonic AU-XPD3 card reader to read some Express P2 cards and I can't figure out why it won't show up or be recognized at all. It doesn't even show an error message, it's as if I don't have anything plugged in at all.

Laptop specs: 2021 14-inch Macbook Pro w/ M1 Pro chip.

I have downloaded the only drivers available from the Panasonic: https://eww.pass.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/content/download/DEF/soft/man/PowerManageOverview_e.pdf

And I have followed the instructions for install: https://eww.pass.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/content/download/DEF/soft/man/PowerManageOverview_e.pdf

Still, the cards will not show up at all. Any help would be appreciated!

All those steps in that guide have already been followed and still nothing. The panasonic website is wildly unhelpful and only half the website translates from japanese to english. Just tried the AU-XPD1 card reader and that won't show up either. I tried both readers on a windows laptop and it still wouldn't work either. I'm not sure what to do and this makes me look like I don't know what I'm doing despite this being the only time this has ever happened.
