Ipad Air Gen 4 Purple Screen and Reboot after IOS 16.6.1 install

I installed the latest IOS update 2 days ago and now keep experiencing purple screens, shut-down and reboot incidents. Battery level is good.

Is there going to be another update to fix this problem.

Note - my wife has the same Ipad but doesnt experience the same poroblem.

Thanks, Rob

If you are experiencing issues immediately after performing a system software update, try a forced restart - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

Hi, thanks for the advice. I tried the forced restart and it appears to have stopped the purple screen.

However, it now just goes black and shuts down and after a few seconds reboots with the Apple logo. No pre-warning, it just shuts down.

Any advice ?

Any news on whether others are suffering the same ?

Any news of a fix ?

Thank you, Rob
