Which Music/iTunes library .itl file is active?

How do I determine exactly which Library file my old iTunes is using so I can open the correct one on my new computer?

Tying to move iTunes music content to a new computer.

I copy all the content.

Click the iTunes/Music .itl file to open Music app.

However the state the Music App opens in is about a year old and does not contain content and playlists I have added within the last year.

All the music files have been copied. But they do not appear in the Music App because I think I am using the wrong .itl Music/iTunes database file.

I feel like I am using an old .itl file.

How do I determine exactly which Library file my old iTunes is using so I can open the correct one on my new computer?

When you open and close iTunes the modification date on the .itl file should be updated to the current date/time.

If you shift-start-iTunes to choose or create a new library it should start with the location of the current library.

See Move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Community for more advice.

Note that clicking .itl or .musiclibrary files will open the relevant app with the last library that it successfully opened, not necessarily the file that you clicked on. To switch libraries you must hold down shift (Windows) or option (Mac) while launching the app, then click Choose Library and browse to the file that you want opened.
