Hello Clprac,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities.

We understand you are having trouble with the cursor moving while typing using Gmail. You didn't mention which app you are using, so we'll a few different options.

Are you using the Gmail app? If so, you will want to follow the steps below for troubleshooting. You can click on this link for details of each step if needed: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support.

  1. Force close and reopen the Gmail app
  2. Restart your iPhone
  3. Check the App Store to see if there are any updates to the app that needs to be installed
  4. Delete the app and then redownload it.

If the same behavior with cursor and typing continues, you will want to reach out to Gmail support since it is developed by Google. We found a support link that you can use: Gmail Help.

Are you using a web browser to access your Gmail on the web? Have you tried using a different browser? If it happens on multiple browsers, again you will want to use the link above for Gmail support. If it happens only on one browser, is it Safari? And do you have this problem anywhere else?

Reach back out if we can help.

Take care!

Hi Clprac,

Try removing the Gmail account from the Mail app on your iPhone and then add it back again. This process can help resolve issues when composing and accessing the Gmail account. Use the steps below for how to complete this process.

Remove your email account and set it up again

1. On your computer, sign in to your email provider’s website. Make sure that all of your email is there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than on your iOS or iPadOS device.
2. On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
3. Tap the email account that you want to remove.
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Add your account again.

These steps are from If you can’t send email on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

Take care.
