App Store age restrictions

If my child’s account is set to age 4+ is there away to make an exception to allow an app that is 12+?

How can I adjust age restrictions for specific apps on my child's iPhone? My child is age 15 and would like to download instagram, which is rated as 13+. I have set her at age 12+ for app restrictions, because I don't want her to have access to 17+ apps at this time. The age limits should be 10+ not 12+ The age limits on some apps are too high. Especially on YouTube and Roblox. I get that Facebook and TikTok have an older age limit bc they r not kids apps. We shouldn’t have to make a fake account for kids to be able to watch YouTube or play a certain kids game. I don’t mean to complain, but some of the age limits are pretty strict.

Can’t disable restrictions despite being 18 I’m 18 plus but can’t turn off the age restricts at all, I’m not on a family group but I’m not even able to change age rating or get 13+ apps despite my account being literally 18 it’s infuriating.

Hello lewiss18,

This article discusses using parental controls on your child's device and how you can manage the settings: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support. If the age requirement for a specific app is older than what you have set for your child, it would need to be increased in order to download that app.
