/tmp (/private/tmp) not writeable anymore

I use my Macbook Pro for (non-Mac) software development.

Since upgrading to MacOS 13.5.2 I've noticed that /tmp --> /private/tmp has started changing from "drwxrwxrwt" (1777) to "drwxrwxr-t" (1775). Resetting the protection doesn't last – it gets changed back to being write protected to 'others' regularly.

This is causing some programs and commands to fail at random times with all sorts of confusing error messages. It was difficult to diagnose as I could find no mention of this in notices from Apple, and very few mentions on the net.

Please give users the option to go back to a /tmp writeable to 'others'!

This is what I see in Ventura 13.5.2

 /private/tmp
