Apple Mail not syncing across devices

I just traded my Verizon iphone 13 pro for an AT&T iPhone 14 Pro (had to switch carriers) and now my apple mail program on my desktop, laptop, and phone are not seeing the changes to deleted and read mail on any other device. I.e., if I read or delete mail on my laptop, neither the phone or the desktop see those as read or deleted. The mail on laptop and desktop are IMAP. Not sure why things are disconnected.

Any ideas?

These don't sync between devices Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, Notes, Voice Memosshared photosiCloud Photos, and emails. Each device syncs to the email account server which may be Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo, or any Other. Please see the pic below

If one of the devices is not connected to the internet then it may seem to you that they are not syncing.

So, checking my phone, for instance, it is connected to wifi and syncing is on/green. However, it is not seeing the updated changes when I read or delete mail on my laptop, which also has syncing turned on. I don't see the iCloud sync for mail, but my icloud account is synced and it shows my attached devices. 1 third-party account seems to be holding the most unsynced items. But all have the syncing turned on.

Also, an FYI. I had the third party in POP mail because I was having trouble with IMAP earlier this year, and I deleted the POP mail account and added it back as IMAP. Don't know if that has corrupted the index or something, but when I added IMAP back, it downloaded a lot of older messages from the server as if they were new. But even after deleting or reading them on the mac, they are still shown as unread on the phone.

All Items are syncing to their respective accounts. HOWEVER, My desktop is on Ventura, my laptop is on Sonoma and my phone is on iOS 17.x

Every account says it is synced but both my desktop and my iPhone are not seeing emails I have read on my Laptop as read the other devices. I am wondering if my iPhone is being confused by the desktop ?? I even deleted my iPhone account to this third-party email service, and reinstalled it. It worked for a day and then all the old read emails popped up as unread.
