My mail will not close so I can't update my software. I can"t shutdown without closing mail. Help

I can't update my software because I can't close my mail.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.6

Go to the Apple logo in the upper right of menu, click on Force Quit, then choose mail and force quit it.

I need help who can I call Every time I open my mail icon I can be on it for like five seconds and it shuts off and says re-open. There's a problem I've updated my storage because I've had this problem once before and it seem to work. My mail on my iPhone is completely fine but on my MacBook it's freaking out. Who can I call to help me.

PS - Glad it worked for you. I mistakenly said Apple logo in upper right but meant to say upper left.
