Received notification that I needed to call Apple as my device had detected a problem. Spoke an employee and was supposed to tell me what was happening. Can I get any information as to where things stand?

That call was not from Apple. You have fallen victim to a scammer. Did you give them any information? Credit card numbers? Apple ID & Passcode? Anything at all? If so, you may be in trouble.
