Restore encrypted backup from itunes

Since you're now learning how important knowing the encryption password is and without it, you cannot restore that backup, do yourself a very simple favor. Get a little notebook and write down such important password and keep tht notebook somewhere safe for recall at a later date if you forget the password.

Everyone is right. There is no workaround for your situation. You can keep guessing, but until you remember the password, your data is locked in that encrypted backup and it won't be available until you remember the password.

Unfortunately, Apple makes it very clear in their support documentation that you must have the encryption password to be able to restore an encrypted backup.

There are no workarounds on this one.

We can't help you with 'cracking' the password. On the bright side, you have unlimited tries to guess what you set it to.

If you can't remember it, you can't restore from that backup. There's no getting around that. If there were, the encryption wouldn't be worth very much.
