why do I have to killall Dock every time I start my iMac to get regular dock back

I used a second monitor once and my iMac dock settings are all messed up.

Every time I restart my iMac I have a completely grey desktop or dock with no menus except a Startup.

killall Dock restores the correct desktop.

Issue with Target Display Mode I'm trying to use target display mode and it only sorta works. When I press Command-F2 I can see the desktop picture, but none of the files I have on my desktop, nor can I see the Dock. Not sure why. upgraded iMac to ventura 13.2 now everything I add to dock disappears each time I restart computer Don't know what to add.... since I installed Ventura every time I restart the computer all the programs I've personally added to the dock disappear and all the programs I removed from the dock reappear.

Hi,

Try to start up in Safe Mode then normal boot could solve your issue.
