Does this process work for a standard iPhone X?

The article mentions that this works with iPhone XS. XR and above, what about those of us upgrading from a standard iPhone x?

The iPhone X doesn't support an eSIM, so one can't be created on it.

If you're outside the USA, move the physical SIM card over.

If you're inside the USA, contact your wireless carrier for an eSIM.

Thank you!! do you know where I can find more info about transferring my sim information from my iPhone X to my iPhone 15 when it comes in next week? I’ve tried googling without much luck, will probably reach out to apple support next.
