install existing iPhone 8 plus to iPhone 15 Pro?

I want to configure my new iPhone 15 Pro from my iPhone 8 plus.

The iPhone 8 Plus has OS 16.7.2 and it is the latest update for that phone.

While you can restore the new iPhone 15 Pro from a backup of the iPhone 8 Plus, it will not restore the older iOS. It will have a newer iOS, and you will be prompted to update to the latest, iOS 171.1. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support
