Has anyone found out why parts of the breathing rate chart are shown in grey?

The breathing rate graph produced by the sleep app has some sections in grey.

Why?

I was going to say I didn't see that at all on mine but, I realized mine is in dark mode which makes it harder to see. I do see one data point in Heart Rate that has the grey but only one. If I compare it to the heart rate data alone, it appears that, during that time period, the watch didn't record much information. Probably because I had my arm in such a position that it lost contact with my wrist. I do that sometimes.

If you go to HeartRate, you can see both heartrate during sleep and overall heart rate. Swith to the hourly view of heartrate and perhaps something will suggest itself.
