I get them when I end the call. When I let the call go to vm then there’s no message left (usually). If you are terminating the call, the system may be thinking it’s a fax line. Therefore, the fax message. Remember when your fax machine used to pick up after so many rings?

I get these too. Call rolls over to voicemail and runs till voicemail times out, a little less than two minutes. A real pain. Haven't found a way around this but to turn off voicemail, which is impractical.

My husband and I receive them too. I more than he. I have found that the more I block the numbers, the more calls I get. I don’t answer or press any buttons to end the call - I let it go to my voice mail and then check the voice mail and it’s the fax tone. I do find it hard to believe that there are that many companies faxing to random numbers… have the scammers found another way to hack? Is anyone (Apple or AT&T) looking for a way to help the consumers stop these calls?

You’d be better off not replying than just linking to faqs. People know how to block numbers — it’s just that fax spam is a serious issue.

It would be great if Apple could automatically ban numbers not in your address book from numbers who call and leave you fax voicemail. It’s technically possible and it’s a huge issue for iPhone users.

Apple needs to get the magic back that Steve used to push for. Things like this should “just work.”

One potential solution is to use a fax app which will automatically convert each fax call into a fax image. You never need to look at, be distracted by, or waste even one valuable second of your life to consider those images.
