No, it basically uses advanced location methods in your iPhone. Try to use Tap-To-Pay/Apple Pay with your card/iPhone when you arrive at your destination. If on the odd chance the transaction is declined, look in Apple Messages for a message from Apple Card Support requesting you to verify it’s you trying to conduct the transaction.
