There are such options, but they are to "export to" rather than "save as". The only "save as" option is to save the current Numbers document as a Template which you can then use to create other Numbers documents of the same type.
Note that the Export to Excel requires translation of the Numbers file format to
meet the Excel file format. features supported in Excel but not supported in Numbers, will be dropped in the translation (true in either direction).

Barry

Save as... was dropped some time in the past in later operating systems.
Hi buffylou,
Menu > File > and hold down the option key to see "Duplicate" change to "Save as..."
Tested in Numbers 13.1 under macOS Ventura 13.3.1
Save as... has been "hidden" behind the option key ever since the release of Numbers 3.0 in late 2013. Or perhaps it was even earlier with Numbers'09 under OSX Mountain Lion. (There was long saga on Save as... but let's leave that alone. 😉)
Regards,
Ian.
I don't use Numbers, so am investigating for someone else in my family, but what's strange is that Save As shows up in my File menu without the OPTION key, though not in theirs, and according to your and other comments it disappeared a long time ago. (Monterey, Numbers v. 13.1) .
And I'm just slowly remembering that many years ago, after becoming first aware of the issue, I changed my system keyboard shortcut settings to make Command-Shift-S equal "Save as ..." And it has stayed put, which is why I have it on mine, and others don't.
On my iMac, still running Monterey, Numbers still has SAVE AS, but another family member who has upgraded to Ventura, says they don't have it. So maybe they got rid of it in the meantime
hold the option key while selecting the Numbers menu "File"
I'll pass that along. Thanks!
I was able to restore it on my computer. It's not difficult. Here's an article explaining how:
