Mic Issues since upgrading to Ventura

Since upgrading to Ventura 13.5.2 my external mics (2 different ones) no longer record clearly. They are recognized by the OS, but record only crackles and broken voice sounds. I have tried several ways of hooking them up to the MacPro with no difference.

The main app that I use is Camtasia, but I have tried it on others with no improvement.

connecting an external microphone 1/4 inch to MacBook Pro How do I connect an external microphone to my MacBook Pro 2023 by Thunderbolt? I have quarter inch connector mics not USB. This is to my new MacBook Pro M3 Max model running Sonoma.

Never mind. I figured it out. Outdated Camtasia was the problem.
