Trying to find out the serial number make model year of my mac book I am cling on the apple icon and about this mac but nothing happens what to does

Where is the PART NUMBER on my MacBook Pro? all I have is a serial number when will Apple STOP giving everything TWO (2) names? At least put both names on the product and website. I tried to look up if my MacBook Pro is compatible with the new update and the list gives a Product number, I can only find a serial number. REALLY!

Try a restart.

The S/N is also on the Botton the Mac in quite small faint print.

Hi,

System Preferences > AppleID then select your MacBook shows you a Serial Number.
