MacBook Air 13in retina says documents has 83 GB but is empty

I have a MacBook Air retina 13in from 2018. I’m trying to run photoshop and upgrade my software. I don’t have enough storage. When I look to empty storage under the. Manage tab it says I have 73 GB of files but nothing in any of the sections. What do I do?
