iphone 12 - cannot connect to free wifi

Recently I am finding it impossible to connect to free Wifi when away from home/router/computer_ I have tried removing my iphone wifi password and tried my husband's phone (android) which connects just fine - like mine used to until the last few weeks.

I am just about to charge up my old ipad to see if I can access wifi at the shopping centre we are about to go to_ to prove it is this device (Thanks for this suggestion Apple)

I would love and adore anyone who can solve this BIG problem_ A few concierge (male and female) have already said "I never saw this before"

Nothing is impossible and this has to have an answer_ Thanks for helping if you can

Troubleshooting Connecting an iPhone to Public WiFi:

A few thoughts to try:

I. Start Here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch won't Connect to a Wi-Fi Network - Apple Support

II. Clear the Temporary Internet Files:

Cookies perform remembrance of certain site-entered data.
Cache keeps a snapshot of the last time you visited a site.
Go Here: Clear the History and Cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch - Apple Support

II. Request that they Restart their Router:

Power: off the router
Wait: 30 seconds
Power: It back on

IV. Reconnect to the Network:

Go to: Settings
Tap: Wi-Fi
Disable: Wi-Fi
Wait: 30 seconds
Enable: Wi-Fi

V. Add Back the Network:

Go to: Settings
Tap: Wi-Fi
Remove: the network
Wait: 30 seconds
Add: the network back
