Physical Greek keyboard for MacBook Pro with USB C

Hi, I‘m learning Greek and need to write both Greek an German. On my MacBook Pro (2019, with Ventura) I can only do that putting the picture of the keyboard on my desktop and using the cursor; if I want to switch between the two languanges I need to click on the icon in the line on the upper right and change the keyboard. That’s so tiring. I asked the apple support and they said yes, it’s not possible to have two overview pictures of two different keyboards/languages on the desktop at the same time. So I‘d like to buy a physical Greek keyboard and connect it to my Macbook.

My questions are:

  • Can I find a keyboard with Greek letters and plug it in to the USB C to my MacBook? It only has USB C connections
  • Will I then be able to type Greek letters using that external keyboard and type German letters using the built in keyboard on my Laptop?

Thx for any advice.

We are in Greece actually, so I might buy a keyboard here… no idea how I could find or order such a thing back home in Switzerland!

There are also other ways to do it. You can switch keyboards via Caps Lock or Control Space or Fn/Globe.

If you really need the switching to be automatic depending on which keyboard you are touching, there is an app which may help.

I think Greek keyboards are only available in Greece, so best get it there if you want one.

Hi,

1) You can use USB-A Greek keyboard with USB-C to USB-A adapter.

2) I'm using English and Japanese at the same time, so I assume you can use German and Greece language at the same time, but you need to switch German and Greece language vise verse change language switcher icon top of right side pull down menu when you type in.
