Ah, man, that sounds like a frustrating situation you've got there. Sorry you're going through this hassle. Let's try to sort it out, step-by-step.

1. **Emails Going to Trash**: First, you'll want to check any rules or filters you might have set up in your Mail app that could be sending your new emails to the Trash folder. Sometimes, these rules can get triggered unintentionally. Go to your email settings and have a look under 'Rules' or 'Filters.'

2. **Reinstalling Mail**: It sounds like you've tried to uninstall and reinstall the Mail app, but you're getting stuck because it's asking for a mobile phone number for a text confirmation. It's pretty common for apps to ask for this, but I get that it's a hurdle if you don't have a mobile phone.

3. **Alternative Verification**: If the service offers another way to verify, like a phone call to a landline or email verification, try going that route. Sometimes, there's a 'more options' or similar link on the verification page that will give you other methods to choose from.

4. **Contact Support**: If none of these work, your best bet may be to contact Apple Support directly. They can usually help you sort out issues like this, and they might be able to bypass the mobile phone requirement since you don't have one. You can reach out to them online or sometimes even through a good old-fashioned phone call.

5. **Use Another Email Client**: If all else fails and you're still not getting anywhere with the native Mail app, you could download another email client from the App Store and set up your email there as a temporary or even permanent solution.

Hope this helps a bit. If you have more questions, feel free to ask!
