MacBook Pro M1 Battery Health Decrease After Latest macOS Update

Hey everyone,

I've been using my MacBook Pro M1 for about two months now, and I've noticed something concerning after updating to the latest macOS version, Ventura 13.5.2, last night. Before the update, my battery health was at 100%, but now it's showing 99%.

Here are some details about my usage:

  • I mainly use my MacBook Pro while it's connected to the power adapter.
  • I typically get 9 to 10 hours of screen time.
  • My battery cycle count is currently at 34.

I'm a bit surprised to see this decrease in battery health after just two months of use and a relatively low cycle count. I've heard that modern MacBooks have advanced battery management, but I wasn't expecting such a drop.

Has anyone else experienced a similar decrease in battery health after updating to Ventura 13.5.2? Is this something that I should be concerned about, or is it just a minor fluctuation that can happen from time to time?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance. 🍏 #MacBookBatteryHealth #macOSUpdate #jabedkhanjb

100 to 99%...

I see no issue here. Forget about it, check again in 6 months.

BHM is not static nor linear... it is dynamic.

The rule of thumb—if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on the battery only—this is how you optimize your battery charging and extend the working life of your battery by reducing the cycle count.
