Front Camera Not Working 6s +

A few months ago my front camera stopped working on my iPhone 6s plus. I've tried and read several online suggestions to no avail. Strangely the only fix has been to remove the SIM chip and reinstall it. For some reason that has worked every time. Doing that only seems to help for a little while since I don't use the camera very often. Like I said I've tried the online suggestions and yes the front camera doesn't work on other apps when this occurs. I've also read that the SIM is not supposed to have any relation to the camera.
