How do I sign out of my Apple ID on my iPhone?

How do I sign out of my Apple ID on my iPhone?

I want to go into the Apple Store with a different Apple ID from the one I automatically get connected with, which is my normal Apple ID that I'm using here.

I'm told I have to do this in iPhone Settings. I go to Apple ID in Settings. At the bottom I have Sign Out. This takes me to a page that asks me to enter the password for the current Apple ID. That seems pointless. There is no other option on the page except Turn Off in the upper right. I tap that, but it seems to do nothing at all. I try entering my password and tapping Turn Off. That also doesn't seem to do anything, except switching off Find My. Ok I understand that if I'm signing off, but I'm still signed in on the phone with the same Apple ID. I still can't get into the Apple Store correctly. Is it supposed to work somehow?

That will only sign out of the App Store, it will not sign out of the iPhone.

Pointless? Your security....and phone.... are being protected.

Imagine if someone else has picked up your phone and they want to sign out of your Apple ID and set up their own Apple ID to take complete control of the phone. That person would not know your Apple ID Password, so they would not be able to sign you out and take over control of the phone.

Thank you. But what is the point of it doesn’t actually do anything. I’ve tried different devices but I can’t sign out. The problem really is that I should be able to sign out of the Apple Store and not have to sign out of the system. The Apple Store seems locked to the system, and signing out of the system seems like a major thing. I think I should be able to sign out of the store as I would sign out of these forums.

Try doing this. Go to Settings -> Your Apple Profile (First Section That has your name) -> Media & Purchases -> Sign out
