Apple desktop key wireless keyboard not pairing?

Hi, ambachew177, you’re not talking to Apple here. I’m just a Mac user here same as you… if your keyboard came with a short usb cable ( lightning to usb) plug that into your keyboard and then into your Mac. Bluetooth keyboards are known to be a bit troublesome, for startup and troubleshooting.. use/borrow/buy a wired USB keyboard… any brand will work as long as it’s wired+ usb… when it comes to making appointments, that store should have a phone number or email address, reach out to them that way… and make an appointment… if you go to the Apple website then support—then repair, make sure you click your country’s flag at the top of the page, you should be able to find your nearest Apple Store or AASP ( apple authorized service provider)

I'm not being facetious here but others have forgotten to turn on their bluetooth keyboards with the slide switch on the back of the keyboard. Is it turned on?

If it's a rechargeable keyboard connect it with the charging cable and then go to the Bluetooth setting in System settings and see if the keyboard is listed. Then unplug the cable and see what happens.
