HP Printer lost its ability to print from Pages

iMac Ventura OS13.5.2. Couldn't get my hp8600 printer to print my doc in Pages (Version 13.1).

Error Message: 'Awaiting for printer to become available'. Tried 'everything" e.g rebooting printer several times, pulling power cord, added and removed cable between computer and printer, tried changing the order of rebooting computer and printer. Read a good number of hp help pages and help forums. Dickered with the wireless settings and all such. Nothing worked.

Desperate, facing a deadline, I moved my doc from Pages to Text Edit. Can't remember if I again ran the connect to printer procedure or not. No biggie to do anyway.

Immediate total success! Tried printing from Pages afterward. Successful here also. Tried again an hour or so later. Still Works!!

Question: What is going on here? Can I depend on using Text Edit as a solution next time?
