It's always in my book smart to wait when it come out a .1 or .2 until int flushed out the bugs from initial release! Besides I always also felt that with Mac sense the Mac OS X days to just one up from MacOS that its came with is the only upgrade I would do on your purchase!
Sonoma is a disaster. Perhaps the worst Apple OS ever. After 5 upgrades the remote access is still broken, along with other features. Trying to make the computer OS look and work like the IOS has not worked. I returned all my machines, which I use commercially back to their original OS. STAY away from this nightmare!
Ask again once Sonoma is released, Sept 26.
Many times users have issues when a new OS is released and installed. I always install on an external drive to test all is working and if I like the new changes before updating my internal drive. Now to answer your question only you can decide if it is better than Ventura or Monterey or any other previous OS for your use.

Based on the info below, Sonoma might be considered more as an update than an upgrade.
Quote from that site seems reassuring: "I will be upgrading three of my four working Macs to Sonoma on 26 September."
...but do make good backups before any update

Really? You think that all the bugs in the initial release will be gone by .2? If that's the case, why is there a .3? .4? All you're doing is delaying the decision to no particular benefit. Every release has issues for some users, but none for most people. Make a back up and update. Go on with your life.

Do I understand this correctly? You're saying that if your Mac comes with say, MacOS 11 then you would not upgrade beyond Mac OS 12? What's the logic behind that I wonder?
of course
Well, it certainly is the only replacement.
What constitutes "good" or "better" in your mind?
The public preview is the only thing you have to compare until it is released.
Love the way a guy turn up 6 months later with this, and somehow the million of other users don't have his issues. But his are so big it's a disaster for everybody else. Go figure.
