Just hit this exact same issue. Feel like I’m being punished for having my own music collection and being forced to get Apple Music and stream. I don’t want to do that, I enjoy having my own music collection that I manage.
this better be corrected as there’s no justification to count it twice.
Sorry. Wrong second screenshot. Here’s the one referenced in previous post
same here. its just bizarre
I'm old school. All my music is synced from iTunes, music I have ripped from 100's of CD's. I am an old DJ and like having my own music rather than count on some streaming service for my playlists.
current memory map under 17.2
How come on my iPad synced media take so much space? 😱
Same issue here. 12 mini.
Exactly. For me its not a reclassification because apparently it is placed in the iphone storage which basically used the storage of the phone. It must be fixed or rather be removed from the storage.
I am using an application called iMazing. I am not, and have never, subscribed to Apple Music.
And you used the word "logically" which is exactly the issue I am referring too!
I do have this category on my iPad Air (4th Gen).
After painstakingly removing just enough content from my "almost full" 2020 SE to allow for an update from iOS 17 to 17.0.1, my storage dropped to 79 of 128 GB.
Go figure.
So this dummy "synced content" storage amount may prevent an iOS update because the logic "thinks" it has that much less storage. Correct?
I don't know enough to confirm that. In fact, my "synced content" file remains 1.37 GB, and I still don't know what that is.
For the 2nd time, she's calling me back because of a poor phone connection. Unreal.
