I have been unable to access search icon on my WhatsApp chat since “broadcast list” appeared. How can I have it restored?
using iPhone 6plus

You could try to install WhatsApp again, after creating a backup in the WhatsApp settings.
Did you already force restart your iPhone?
To do that, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
You will not lose data.
