WatchOS 10 battery life
Someone else noticing substantially worse battery life on WatchOS 10? In my case about 50% worse imo.

The battery life on my Apple Watch since upgrading to WatchOS 10 is horrendous. I’ve had my series 7 watch for about 17 months now. Prior to WatchOS 10, I could take my watch off the charger in the morning and still have 1/4 charge when heading to bed around 12 - 1 am.
I’ve done everything I can think of to improve battery life since upgrading to WatchOS10:
1) Power-cycled my watch (after the update) when I realized the battery life had decreased by approx 50%.
2) Regularly close apps not in use. (Double click the Digital Crown).
3) Reduce the number of apps that run/update in the background.
Still, I can’t get 5 hours without needing to charge my watch.
This needs addressed immediately.
The only battery issue I ever had on watch was os10.0.1 and I unpaired the watch, restored the phone from backup and paired the watch as new (no backup)
I have 50% left at bedtime,
I’m running an ultra 1 and it says I am running the latest software and I have 10.1 installed. No option to update
10.1 is still in Beta, you can’t discuss it here sorry
Restart your phone full power down and Iwatch. That seems to resolve this issue for me for now.
I then put my watch into power save and it used 30% in 24+ hours. Much better !
Did restart both same issue
It’s still bad. I need to charge it a couple of times during the day. I’m honestly a little freaked out. I have alsmot all functions turnt off because of this.
Apple do not recommend wearing Watch in the shower
Interesting. Thanks I'll try this today.
So noise is not the solution.
With 100% capacity I’m out battery after 13 hrs.
I thought I was a dedicated watch wearer, but the shower? That doesn’t sound safe, but it sounds like you trust it.

It isn’t safe, the soaps can damage the seals
I did a full shutdown restart in my watch settle down also. it sounds like others are still having “drain gate” occur.

That sounds slightly better than normal. My series 8 and now 9 spend about that much battery power in 12 hours.
Take the Ultra 2 back or contact Apple Support. That is a faulty watch IMHO, nothing to do with any update
Just read on a french forum someone saying having read on the US forum, so here I guess 🤣 an issue could be with an app called Moby Face (I do not have it).
If you have, remove it
