List type does not show up in iOS 17 on my iPhone. How do I get it to show up?

on my iPhone 14 I have updated to iOS 17 and would like to use the shopping list type in reminders. When I create a new list, I am not presented with the option to choose a list type. How do I enable that functionality?

My Reminders app (IOS iPhone) appears extremely dumbed down relative to features in tutorials I recently downloaded Reminders to my iPhone to give it a try. I'm on iPhone 16 Pro Max, so there are no compatibility issues. I followed a couple tutorials on how to best use the app and they demonstrated numerous features that don't even appear in my version of the app. There are no "When Messaging," Subtask or Flag features in the settings for individual reminders. Also in my version there are no emojis/icons or "List Type" when creating/customizing Lists. These are enormous differences. There are certainly others but these are the most obvious. Why am I not getting a full featured version? Even in the App Store, it shows screenshots from the IOS iPhone app and it is showing these features I mentioned. What am I missing here?

List Type not showing in Reminders on iOS 17 I am trying to create a grocery list in Reminders on iOS 17, but there is no dropdown for List Type. I have seen suggestions that you must have Reminders turned on in iCloud which I already have. My preferred language in settings is Swedish but if I change it to English List Type appears in Reminders. It is making me think it is a language specifik feature, BUT Apple usually marks language specifik features and it is not marked anywhere. It is not marked on the iOS 17 feature page (iOS 17 – Apple (SE)), it is not marked on the support page for the groceries list support page (Create grocery lists in Reminders on your iPhone - Apple-support (SE)) and it is not Feature Availability page (iOS and iPadOS - Feature Availability - Apple). Is it a bug or have they missed to mark it as language specifik feature? Or does any one have any idea how to fix this?

What account are you syncing your Reminders to? In order to access many of the features, it has to be iCloud.

Settings>Reminders>Accounts

That was the problem. Once I set it to synch to iCloud, the list type showed up. Thank you for your help!
