List Type not showing in Reminders on iOS 17

I am trying to create a grocery list in Reminders on iOS 17, but there is no dropdown for List Type. I have seen suggestions that you must have Reminders turned on in iCloud which I already have. My preferred language in settings is Swedish but if I change it to English List Type appears in Reminders. It is making me think it is a language specifik feature, BUT Apple usually marks language specifik features and it is not marked anywhere. It is not marked on the iOS 17 feature page (iOS 17 – Apple (SE)), it is not marked on the support page for the groceries list support page (Create grocery lists in Reminders on your iPhone - Apple-support (SE)) and it is not Feature Availability page (iOS and iPadOS - Feature Availability - Apple).

Is it a bug or have they missed to mark it as language specifik feature? Or does any one have any idea how to fix this?

On the mac page for this feature (Create grocery lists in Reminders on Mac - Apple Support (JO)) it says “Note: Automatic categorization of groceries isn’t available for all languages.”

Strangely it does not say the same thing on the corresponding ios page neither is the feature listed as country specific on the availability pages.

I have the same issue in portuguese language. If i switch to english to option appears. I switch my list to groceries and switch back to Portuguese. But now it categorizes the products in English in spite of the fact the language on the phone is different.

it’s a bloody mess. What a disappointment.
