how to use usb tethering in mac bi

My wifi is not starting up so as an alternative option I want to use my android phone for internet.

I see that for USB tethering I need to use Horndis but the installation seems to be complicated.

Does anybody has a solution to use internet thru my android phone?

The easiest way is to make your Android phone be a personal hotspot. Once it is a personal hotspot, it should appear as long as in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Network -> Show WiFi Status in menubar.

Add the WiFi using the Plus if there is no WiFi interface on Network.

Then view the available networks from the Airport menu near the clock, which looks like:

.

If there is no WiFi interface able to be added, you may need to get a USB-WiFi dongle like this one.
