How to disable "are you sure" question when you end a workout?

Hey, is it possible to DISABLE the "are you sure?" question when you end a workout? Having to click twice to end a workout, instead of once, is very frustrating. TIA.

Watch OS 10.2 is out and rolling to all countries.

iPhone, Watch app, My Watch tab, Workout, turn End Workout Confirmation on or off as you wish.

I disagree LD150. If you look at what you provided it says you 1) swipe right hit end (the red X) and then 2) use the scroll wheel to scroll down the workout summary to hit done.

Now you hit end (still a red X), then you must tap a second time answering “Are You Sure?” and then you need to tap an X at the top left hand side of the workout summary closing the summary. So now there are three things a user must do to complete a workout.

My personal opinion is that I only want to do the first of these three actions.

If the new Are You Sure? tap has been put in place because the workout end is being triggered by users who are wearing clothing that is sweaty and interacts with the watch unknowingly then provide a switch in settings that users can set to add this last step. I can confirm that I do not have these issues and this added tap is annoying to me.

I also never, ever, wanted to scroll to the bottom of the summary to tap “Done”. I wished it would go away as soon as the display changed back to the clock. Especially annoyed that I needed to scroll down and tap it when I wanted to start a new workout a couple of minutes (or more) later.

These are obviously first world problems and there are others scattered around their products. In this case I can live with the added tapping and I continue to buy Apple products. But I always remember that Apple implemented this design on purpose and that says something about them too.

The difference is that the workout actually ended with the first tap. The Done was to confirm you have seen the summary and done with it. You didn’t actually even have to click on it unless you want to start a new workout the same time. After a while it used to automatically reset back as if you clicked Done.

Thank you. I do not see this option. Under Watch->Workout in iPhone I see from top to bottom:

Lower Power Mode

Auto-Pause

Start Workout Reminder

End Workout Reminder

Press to Pause

View Metrics on iPhone

Alerts on Watch

Detect Gym Equipment

Workout Playlist

Units of Measure

Voice Feedback

Heart Rate Zones

Cycling Power

Guessing it is my iPhone OS being 17.1 not 17.2? I'll update it tonight (auto update was on so not sure why I'm behind. Appears 17.2 was released 17 days ago).

“End the workout on Apple Watch

When you reach your goal, you hear a tone and feel a vibration. If you’re feeling good and want to continue, go ahead—your Apple Watch continues to collect data until you tell it to stop. When you’re ready to end your workout:

  1. Swipe right, then tap End.
  2. Turn the Digital Crown to scroll through the results summary, then tap Done at the bottom.

I'm sure I'd hit "end workout" (swipe right and hit END - the red x). I did the "Done" bit later, whenever I felt like it. The workout wouldn't continue between "end" and "done" - I am certain.

Now if I hit "end workout" and don't reply to "are you sure?" the workout continues. I tried it.

I'm sure of this. Again, I'll drop it because it's out of my hands.

Just to add, I completely share OP’s frustration at the extra step needed to end a workout.

I keep accidentally leaving it running on the ‘are you sure?’ screen, whereas previously pressing ‘End’ was all that I needed to do.

I have never needed to instantly start a new workout!

When you have got used to something being a particular way for a long time, it takes a while to adjust. I’m sure we’ll cope. But it’s no less valid a complaint.
