How do I change my iOS email notification to my iTunes ringtone that I paid for? I had it selected then I changed it by accident, and now it will not allow me to choose from my paid for iTunes ringtones?

I had chose from one of my paid for iTunes ringtones before, and then when I changed it by accident. It all of a sudden wouldn’t allow me to choose from the ringtones I had bought off iTunes such as before? I have never had this problem before. It was always so easy. All I had to do was go to settings, then notifications, and sounds, and I could choose from my paid for downloaded iTunes ringtones. Idk if it’s because of the new iOS 17 update that’s made the change or what? But, I would like to use my ringtones that I paid for as my iOS email notifications tones like I have always been able to do before. If someone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much.

At this point, something very strange is going on with tones. Even if you purchase the tone from the iTunes Store now, the only thing you can use it for is a ringtone. It's not clear why. Based on what happened when I tried this morning, I suspect it's a bug but obviously, can't be sure.

Tones I had previously purchased are available for everything. Custom tones that I've made over the years are only available as ringtones.

I suggest that you submit feedback to Apple as I have:

Note that iOS 17 is not yet an option for selection in the drop down menu. Just make sure it's in the text box.

Yea I have the RingTune app, and I would download or upload them on the garage band app, and it will allow me to put them

on my iPhone . I was talking about iTunes! I purchased a few ringtones tones through iTunes, and I had used one of them as my iOS email notification. Well I have always done that. I didn’t mean to change it. When I did by accident. That’s when I couldn’t change it back? Which is very weird! I’m really hoping it’s not because of the new iOS 17 update that’s changed it from happening.

Yes, it is because of iOS 17. Submit feedback. I gave the link above.

Apple support told me they are working on it. When another update comes out they hope to fix it. Told me if it did not fix it to call them back This was on 09/21/23 at 9:00am

This happened when I updated to iOS 17

Can not set text tone and new mail tone and all the other tones. My ringtone is the only one that works right
