White spot on perimeter of display
Today I noticed a spot at the black border of my 6th generation iPad Pro 12.9 inch. There’s the initial spot right against the black and around that is a larger fainter spot. There are no physical defects on the screen itself. I baby and protect this iPad because it was stupid expensive and I want it to last for a very long time. That’s why this seemingly insignificant little spot on the perimeter has me worried. I also had to immediately replace the first iPad I received in Jan 2023 because of a screen defect involving black bars across the display. Since I’ve already had to deal with one replacement for screen issues I’m hyper vigilant for any issues with my current unit. Will the spot spread? Will it eventually affect functionality? I don’t know, but its existence indicates that something is wrong and we didn’t pay two thousand dollars for something to be wrong within a year (and with two units in a row at that). I’ve turned the iPad off and on several times, checked for updates, viewed it in different apps and brightness levels, so the issue seems to be in the display itself. It’s more visible at an angle. I also haven’t been able to find other instances of spots like this. I’d just go in to an Apple Store but the nearest one is over an hour away.
