when using standby on my iPhone 14 Pro the time shown is different by 4 hours from the normal vertical position

Are you using the "City" widget? If so, it may be set to a different city than where you live. The default is Cupertino.
One the screen where you add/edit the Standby widgets, tap the clock. It will flip over and you can change the city. Or, use a different widget.

Thanks for the tip, but I cannot "remove" Cupertino. When on Standby, the face of the clock shows CUP and -4, and when I touch the "edit" button it already shows the city where I am and the right time, and I don't see where is Cupertino.
Delete the "City" clock widget and just use one of the standard ones.
