I have a new Lacie (Seagate) D2 that I have put a lot of files on, now when I go to use Time Machine to backup my internal hard drive and the this external one System Preferences doesn't allow me to remove the Lacie from the 'exclude from backup' list. It is greyed out even when I try to highlight it. Any suggestions appreciated, thank you.

Problem solved, the new external Lacie drive was formatted in 'exFAT', erasing it and reformatting it in "Mac OS Extended Journal" with GUID partition solved the problem. I was able to back it up and remove it from the exclude list.

A new external drive to a previous backup drive. I realized the new Lacie Drive was ExFat formatted so now I've reformatted it to "Mac OS Extended Journal" with GUID partition and am reloading my files onto it and will try TM again when ready to backup later tonight/tomorrow.
Is it a startup drive or a previous backup disk ?
